We are Neighbors Church

We are a community committed to practicing the way of Jesus together in San Diego. We do this by being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus and doing what Jesus did. We gather on Sundays & scatter throughout the city in large and small communities, seeking renewal in our city.

What We Believe

We hold to the historic teachings of Christian Orthodoxy as articulated in the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds. We also subscribe to recent summaries of Christian doctrine as formulated in the LAUSANNE COVENANT & CAPE TOWN COMMITMENT

Our Values

Simplicity
Modern life is full of crammed calendars and clutter, keeping us distracted from what matters. Simplicity emphasizes contentment letting the contours of the Kingdom shape our life rhythms, allowing space for community and the presence of God.

Stillness
We are embodied souls. By becoming still and attuning our awareness to God, we are reconnected with Him in loving union. Stillness is the practice of the presence of God, detaching from our past, not fixating on our future, but simply being with God.

Spirit
God the Holy Spirit indwells and animates His Church by His very presence. Simplicity makes room for the Spirit to fill us. Stillness shapes our souls through the Spirit’s counsel. Through these practices the Spirit moves His community to be a prophetic and pastoral presence in this world.

Our Mission

“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” — Matthew 28:19-20

The proclamation of the gospel to all people, resulting in their becoming disciples of Jesus.

The transformation of those disciples character into the character of Jesus himself. We believe by faith the accomplishment of the mission will result in the realization of the vision.
